Change the folder name or image in the top toolbar

  • 1 minute read

The top toolbar shows the name and image of the folder you are inside. These are properties of the folder itself, not the button you tap to open it. When you edit a folder button, the name and image in the top toolbar will not change automatically.

Instead, you will need to edit these in the Folder Properties:

  1. Go inside the folder whose name and/or image you want to change.
  2. Tap the Edit Edit icon button in the bottom toolbar to open Edit Mode.
  3. In the left Edit Mode side panel, tap the Folder tab.

Change the folder name

In the Name and Symbol section, tap inside the top text field. The system keyboard will pop up. Type the name you want to use instead.

Each folder must have a unique name. If you enter the name of a folder that already exists in the Proloquo2Go user, you will get an error message. Proloquo2Go will then reset the name to the one you were previously using.

Change the folder image

On the left side of the Name and Symbol section, you can see a preview of the folder image. Proloquo2Go will try to fill this in based on the folder name. The app will also suggest alternative symbols. If you like one of these better, just tap it.

If Proloquo2Go has not suggested a symbol or you don’t want to use any of the suggestions, tap the preview image. Then, choose from the following options:

  • Choose a Symbol: Search Proloquo2Go’s symbol database
  • Choose a Picture: Select a picture stored on your device’s camera roll or your Dropbox account.
  • Take a Picture: Use your device’s camera to take a photo to put on the button
  • Paste: Paste a picture you have copied from another app or website (e.g. Google Images)
