Edit your Proloquo2Go for Apple Watch vocabulary

Before you start using the app for communication, you’ll probably want to edit and add phrases to meet your needs.

First, you’ll need to switch into the Apple Watch user.

1. Open Proloquo2Go on your iPhone.
2. Open the Tools popup , then go to Options.
3. Select User.
4. You will see a new user: Apple Watch English, Apple Watch Spanish, Apple Watch French, or Apple Watch Dutch. Tap on this username to switch into it.

The Home folder for the Apple Watch user only has three sections: Phrases, Sentence Starters, and Categories. If you add a new section here, it will not sync to Apple Watch. Phrases contains complete phrases that you can choose from and speak. Sentence Starters and Categories contain the words and phrases used with the Sentence Builder.

To add, edit, or delete messages, first go to the section in the app you want to change. Then, tap Edit in the bottom toolbar to open Edit Mode. The sections below have more specific instructions depending on what you want to do.

Edit a message

To view and/or change what a message says:

1. Tap the message’s row.
2. Tap Basics.
3. The top field (Text-to-Speak) shows what Proloquo2Go says and shows on the Apple Watch face after selecting the message. The Label field shows what you see when looking through available messages. Tap inside either field to bring up the keyboard and edit the text.

Add a message or folder

You can add new messages to Phrases and Sentence Starters and inside specific Categories. You can add new folders (containing specific words or phrases) to Phrases and Categories.

First, go into the section where you want to add your message or folder. Then, in Edit Mode, scroll down to the bottom of the list of items until you come to a blank space.

To add a new message, tap the left Add Button section. Then, fill in the Text-to-Speak and Label fields.

To add a new folder, tap the right Add Folder section. When using the Apple Watch vocabulary, you will usually want to choose New Folder from the popup menu. Follow the prompts to finish making your folder. You can then go inside the folder and add messages to it.

Delete one or more messages or categories

1. Tap each item you want to delete to select it.
2. In the Edit Mode toolbar, tap the right arrow icon.
3. Tap the Delete icon when it appears. Choose whether you want to delete the items permanently or move them to Storage. (Items in Storage will not be visible on Apple Watch, but can be moved out of Storage later.)

Change the order of messages or categories

You can change the order of messages or folders in your Apple Watch vocabulary to make more frequently-needed messages more efficient to say.

In Edit Mode, you will see that each item has three horizontal bars on the right edge of its row. To move an item, tap and hold here, then drag it up or down the screen. Lift your finger off the screen when the item is where you want it.

Sync changes to your Apple Watch

When you have finished customizing, tap Done in the top right corner of the screen to close Edit Mode. Then, tap Sync in the top right corner of the screen to mirror the changes to your Apple Watch. This may take several minutes.
