Proloquo and Proloquo Coach
Proloquo and Proloquo2Go are two very different AAC apps. Proloquo is extremely efficient even though it has a vast vocabulary - 4 times the number of words other systems have. This means you cannot delete or hide the pre-set words, like you might in other apps.
Proloquo2Go, on the other hand, is very flexible. This flexibility can be helpful for users with significant motor or visual impairments. You need to make choices that assume you have a thorough understanding of AAC best practice.
Proloquo’s free companion app, Proloquo Coach, will guide you through learning and teaching AAC step-by-step. You will have a team of AAC experts at your fingertips that are available 7 days a week to guide you and answer questions every step of the way!
Proloquo2Go continues to offer a high level of support through in-app email and the AssistiveWare website.
You can learn more about the differences between the apps in this blog post.
It is not possible to remove or hide the pre-programmed vocabulary, and the grid size is fixed. By including more than 16,000 words, we have taken away some of the burden of programming essential vocabulary. This gives communication partners more time for adding personal words and engaging with the AAC user!
Thinking Space allows you to visualize and organize your thoughts. You can place words and symbols in Thinking Space and move them around to rearrange them, connect concepts, or communicate.
Focus Mode uses light and motion to teach specific words while still allowing users access to the full vocabulary.
