Link to or duplicate an existing folder

2 minute read | February 7, 2023

Sometimes, you may want to open a folder that already exists from inside a different folder. For example, if you made a folder for a cooking activity, you might want to add a button that opens the existing Ingredients folder.

Link to an existing folder

Sometimes you may want to have the same folder in more than one location. You can do this by creating a new folder that links to an existing folder.

In Edit Mode, you can create a new folder button that links to any of the user’s existing folders.

  1. Open Edit Mode Edit icon.
  2. Scroll down to and tap any empty grid space. Depending on your grid size, this may be divided into two. If it is, choose the Add Folder section on the right. Otherwise, choose Add Folder from the popup.

On small buttons the choice to create a message button or a folder comes after the tap.
Larger buttons showing separate add functions for buttons and folders
On larger buttons create a message button by tapping the left hand side, and a folder button on the right hand side.
  1. Select Link to Existing Folder.
  2. In the search field, start typing the name of the folder you want to link to. When you see the folder, tap its row to select it. Then, tap Next.

Duplicate an existing folder

You might want to create a similar folder to one you already have, but with some differences. You can duplicate an existing Folder and make edits in the new folder.
