Set up and use Proloquo4Text on your Apple Watch

You can access saved phrases in Proloquo4Text on your Apple Watch. This makes it easier to provide information, such as how you like your coffee or your email address, without opening Proloquo4Text on your other devices.

Set up

  1. Make sure you have Proloquo4Text installed on the iPhone paired to your Apple Watch.
  2. Go to the Watch app.
  3. Go to My Watch.
  4. Go to Proloquo4Text.
  5. Toggle Show App on Apple Watch to ON.

Edit

Proloquo4Text for Apple Watch shows phrases stored in Proloquo4Text’s Apple Watch category. You can edit, add, or delete phrases in Edit Mode on your iPhone.

You can also change the appearance of how text and messages will be displayed on the watch’s screen. If there is more than one iOS system voice available for your language, you can change the voice Proloquo4Text uses on your Apple Watch.

Using Proloquo4Text on Apple Watch

To choose a phrase in Proloquo4Text for Apple Watch, tap it. The full phrase will appear on the Watch face. Tap the Watch face again to speak the text out loud. Tilting your wrist towards the person you are talking to will flip your message so it is easier to read.

Silent Mode

Many people prefer their watch to be set to silent and use the haptic feedback instead.

As an AAC user, even when your watch is set to silent, you might still want to be able to use it for communication.

This is now possible in Proloquo4Text 5.3. Simply update your app on the App Store. Be sure that the volume is not muted on your watch so that others can hear Proloquo4Text speak.
