Create and manage digital page sets

2 minute read • April 1, 2023

You can have as many page sets saved in simPODD as you want on your device. You can make different page sets for different users.

Create a new digital page set

  1. Tap Options Menu Small, then tap Settings.
  2. Settings automatically opens to the Page Sets menu. At the bottom right tap the + to create a new page set.
  3. Select a region: English (US) or English (Australia). This will determine certain spellings and references. Tap Next.
  4. Select a page set, then tap Next.
  5. You will have to pick a name for this page set. As there may be multiple users on one iPad, you should pick a name that is easy to recognize. Tap Next.
  6. Select a voice. You can sample the available voices by tapping the Proloquo4Text 32Px Level3Speaker beside each one. Tap Done.
  7. The new page set will automatically load. Tap Done to exit Settings.

Switching between page sets

You can switch between page sets by going into Settings and using the Page Sets menu. Tap the page set you want to load. When you tap Done to exit Settings your page set will be loaded.

Differences between PODD digital page sets and PODD books in simPODD

simPODD is the only app that offers electronic and paper PODD the same app.

However, please note that it is not possible to directly print the electronic page sets in simPODD. Electronic page sets and paper PODD books are completely separate in simPODD.

We worked in close collaboration with Gayle Porter, the creator of PODD. She has designed PODD books and electronic pages sets in different ways:

  • In the electronic page sets there is no navigation menu that you need in the books.
  • Electronic page sets are only available with 15 and 60 buttons per page.
  • There is a full range of PODD books available, from 9 to 100 buttons per page, in one-page or two-page opening.

To access the PODD book section in simPODD, you need to purchase a Yearly Subscription. Then, please go into Options > Books and follow the steps on the screen to create a PODD book.

Once you have created and edited your book you can export it to a computer, review the PDF and then print it.
