Product owner for company with an awesome social mission

For almost 20 years we’ve been developing products to help people live a more fulfilling and complete life. Over the past 10 years, our focus has narrowed. Our mission is to empower people with communication difficulties through innovative technology.

Our users are at the heart of what we do. Many of our users are autistic, have cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and/or vision and fine motor, vision or cognitive challenges. We are proud to collaborate with our users to make sure our apps best serve their needs. Our users play a crucial role in who we are.

We are a very motivated bunch. We work hard to create something that not only makes us proud but changes the lives of those who need it. But all that energy, ambition and passion needs channeling, which is where you come in!

We are looking for a product owner to help us plan, roadmap, prioritize and all that product owning goodness. If you choose to work with us you’ll collaborate with our broad team of specialists including UX designers, clinical experts, communication specialists and more! You would share the office with a very international group of lovely humans and two wonderful cats: Starsky and Hutch.

We are looking for someone already living in the Netherlands with at least three years of software product manager or product owner experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Help us with project planning to make sure we keep all our ducks in a row
  • Lead cross-functional teams to keep projects running as smoothly as possible
  • Translate our high level roadmap into product releases
  • Track feature requests and bugs so we prioritize the things that matter
  • Collaborate in defining how we work together and how we can make things better

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Worked in an user-centered design and data-influenced decision making environment before
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant study
  • 3+ years as a product owner (or product manager), preferably for mobile apps
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Love the smell of fresh user feedback in the morning

Skills we are looking for:

  • Outstanding organizational skills: scheduling, planning, time management, coordination…
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Broad view: The ability to not only work the detail, but stand back to see the big picture, and focus efforts accordingly
  • Responsible and collaborative team player with leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Jira and Mixpanel is a plus
