Winner of the Carol Villars Scholarship 2015

We are happy to announce that Mr. Klatt from Ohio has won the 2015 Carol Villars Scholarship and will be attending the Closing The Gap conference this year.

Mr. and Mrs. Klatt have been taking care of their grandson Tim for the last 8 years. By attending Closing The Gap they hope to learn more about technology and implementation strategies that can help their grandson’s development and independence.

The Carol Villars Scholarship was created to honor our dear colleague and friend, Carol Villars, who passed away the morning of July 30, 2015. Carol dedicated a large part of her life advocating for her daughter with Down syndrome. She also advocated for and supported many, many other parents in similar situations as part of the AssistiveWare Support Team.

During the coming three years, the scholarship will allow a family member of a child with disabilities to attend the Closing The Gap conference in Minneapolis each October. The Carol Villars Scholarship will re-open in spring 2016 for next year's Closing The Gap conference.
