Hi! This is Jessica Rich. I'm new to this community forum for AssistiveWire because I would like to introduce myself to this community forum.
My name is Jessica Rich. I'm 41 years old. I'm a Proloquo2Go user for almost 10 months now because I just learned to use my Proloquo2Go to communicate with the hearing people in various place like in restaurant and stabilize my behavior to avoid my meltdowns/autistic behaviors. This Augmentative and Alternative Communication app helped me become more independent by taking care of my ordered meals myself and communicate with cashiers in any retail store like JCPenney independently without my communication partner.
In addition to my reason to join your community forum, I was born with Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) because my mother gave me bad virus that destroyed my hearing, one eye and increasing my autistic behavior when she was pregnant with me. I have a profound hearing loss (or deafness), visually impaired (blind in one eye) and a mild autism resulting from this syndrome -- Congenital Rubella Syndrome. I am also a nonverbal adult who lost my speech when my hearing loss become more severe and my mild autism become appear in my early life.
I would like to join your Facebook group, Adult Users of Proloquo2Go & Proloquo4Text because I want to make new friends who use your AAC apps and keep in touch with your Facebook group through sharing your posts about views, opinions, comments and activities by various adult AAC users in my future life. As a human being, I could express my feeling and thoughts via sharing what being an AAC user look like by post and share my future views, opinions and comments with other AAC users on your Facebook group. I now have a new Facebook, Jessica Rich (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100013329637370) since August 28, 2016. You could add me as a new member to Facebook Adult Users of Proloquo2Go & Proloquo4Text by typing and locate my name.
Thanks you for sharing my information about being an adult Proloquo2Go user, my real life disabilities and my idea of joining Facebook Adult Users of Proloquo2Go & Proloquo4Text. Please share what my life with disabilities look like with your community forum members for future forum within AssistiveWare and my understanding of what my independent living look like in recent past and present time.
