Methodology

Hello,

What a super robust app. As I am familiarizing myself, I was wondering if there was an article or anything that discussed the methodology for how the home page and the other pages are laid out (i.e. why certain words are on the home page or used in the various templates on a regular basis)

Not sure, but wondering if it is to accommodate the different grid sizes first and foremost or that there is solid methodology for the words used in the places they are used.

We will be using the 7x11 grid size and I want to understand why things are where they are before I do a complete overhaul to make it work better for us.

Thanks so much.

Denise

Hello Pam,

Hello Pam,

I have read the article you referred to about Finding the Words and I have spent about 6 hours with the program now climbing through it.

I made a significant number of changes to the home page and the templates to make it work with my significantly cognitively delayed son.

The changes are really significant compared to the product that is originally presented.

I am wondering if this is the right program for my son. From what I read, although customizations can be made, I get the impression that there was a significant amount of time spent on the methodology and placement of everything. Moving and changing a significant amount of the presentation seems counter intuitive to using the program in the long run.

Do you have any thoughts on this. I took screen shots of the changes I made to the home page if there was any way to share that if someone was able to say, stop drop and roll or yep, this amount of modification works just fine.

Thank you,

Denise

Hello Denise,

Hello Denise,

You can email the screenshots to me at support@assistiveware.com

Do you have an experienced AAC professional who is guiding you and supporting your son? If so, their professional expertise will be valuable.

While Proloquo2Go (any communication system) should be customized to meet the needs of the individual user, there are consistent, research-based components of organization that promote language development - including access to core words.

Hi Pam,

Hi Pam,

I will email you the screen shots to quickly look at.
I do not currently have an AAC professional to work with.
I appreciate the methodology and components of Proloquo2Go.
I am not sure however, that I will receive the support needed to implement it with my son.

Just sent the screen shots.
Thank you.
