Your current Infovox iVox 2 license gives you access to all standard voices for the languages the license covers. Although your Infovox iVox 2 license permitted the use of the software on one computer, the corresponding voices can now be installed on two computers when upgrading from Infovox iVox 2 to Infovox iVox 3 & Infovox iVox 4. In addition to this benefit, all Infovox iVox users running Intel Macs should upgrade to the latest version of Infovox iVox for their system as it offers several new voices for existing languages, improved pronunciation, enhanced compatibility, and greater flexibility for managing activations and purchasing voices.

Depending on your circumstances, there are two slightly different procedures to follow when upgrading from Infovox iVox 2 to Infovox iVox 3 or Infovox iVox 4.

If you have purchased Infovox iVox 2 and it is installed on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Download and install Infovox iVox 3 or Infovox iVox 4 depending on what version of OS X you are running.  The Infovox iVox installer will automatically uninstall Infovox iVox 2, remove your previous voices, and open the Infovox iVox Voice Manager.
  2. Click the Infovox iVox Voice Manager icon in the dock to bring the application to the front.
  3. In the Invovox iVox Voice Manager welcome screen, click the Activate button beside a code.  Be sure to redeem any codes beginning with "II" first, as these are full Infovox iVox licenses. Any codes that begin with "IL" are Infovox iVox Language Packs and must be redeemed after redeeming a full Infovox iVox license.
  4. In the Redeem Activation Code dialog box, make sure that the radio button for Create a new account is selected. With this option, an AssistiveWare Activation Server account will be created so you can easily manage your Infovox iVox voice activations.  The name, organization, and email that you used to activate your previous Infovox iVox license will be automatically entered in the associated fields for your activation server account. You can change this information if desired. Also note that your activation code is automatically entered.
  5. Click the Redeem button to create your activation server account and redeem your code.
  6. If you have additional codes to enter, click the Activate button next to the code that you want to redeem in the Infovox iVox Voice Manager welcome screen.
  7. In the Redeem Activation Code dialog box, make sure the radio button for Use an account activated on this computer is selected.
  8. From the Account popup menu, make sure your name and email address are selected.
  9. Click the Redeem button to redeem your code.
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 if you have additional codes to redeem.
  11. Once you have redeemed your code(s), from the top menu, select Tools > Install All Licensed Voices... to download, install, and activate all of your licensed voices.  If an OS X admin dialog box appears, enter the name and password for an OS X admin account on the computer to finish the installation.

Note that once you perform the above steps, you do not have to do them again to install your voices on another computer. Instead, you can simply activate your AssistiveWare Activation Server account on the computer and then redownload, install, and activate the voices. For instructions, please see How can I install Infovox iVox voices on another computer?

If you have purchased Infovox iVox 2 and it is not installed on your computer, follow these steps:
