How do I use my own photos with Proloquo2Go?

It is easy to add photos to buttons in Proloquo2Go. These can be images from your device's photo library or images copied and pasted from another app such as Safari. In addition, if you have a device with a built-in camera, you can take photos directly within the app.

To use a photo from your photo library as a symbol in Proloquo2Go, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Edit button (the pencil) to enter Edit Mode.

Note that you can easily navigate through the vocabulary while in Edit Mode. To enter a folder in Edit Mode, simply tap the folder twice.
  2. Tap the Add button in the grid and enter your text in the Text to Speak field.
  3. Tap on add picture and select Choose a Picture.
  4. Tap on Select from Dropbox or Camera Roll (All Photos if you have enabled the iCloud Photo Library) depending on where you want to grab the photo from.
  5. Tap the photo you want to use.
  6. The photo you selected will appear in the iOS image picker. Pay attention to the thin white line that makes a box around your photo. This is the frame for the photo. Using the pinching motion, you can make the photo smaller or larger and move it. Adjust the photo within the frame until the section of the photo you want is displayed within the white box. Note that the photo cannot be made smaller than either the width or height of the frame and that there is also a maximum size depending on the resolution of the photo. If you try to make the photo larger or smaller than possible, the photo will snap into an acceptable position. Using the image picker feature, you can move and scale any picture to customize buttons with photos. Once you have positioned your image, tap Use.
  7. If you would like to set additional options for your button, use the options in the menu on the left. Tap Done to confirm your changes and add the button with your own picture.

To copy and paste photos from another app, do the following:

  1. Tap and hold on the the photo you want to copy in Safari or other app and select Save ImageNote: If you are copying an image from a webpage on a device running iOS 7 or earlier, you can only copy images that are not hyperlinked.
