How do I add or edit a button?

Proloquo2Go's Edit Mode interface makes it easy to create or edit buttons and folders. You can learn more about creating message buttons (often just called "buttons") in Edit Mode in the Adding a Button and Button Basics sections of the Proloquo2Go manual. The Adding a Folder section has instructions for making a new folder button. When you create a folder button, you have a few choices. You can make a completely new folder, link to an existing folder, or duplicate an existing folder.

It is also possible to create a message button from the contents of the Message Window, or from a message in Recents. In both cases, the first step is to navigate to the folder where you want to put the button. Then, the rest of the process is a little different depending on whether you are running Proloquo2Go 5 or an earlier version.

If you are running Proloquo2Go 5:

  • If you are creating a button from the Message Window, open the Tools popup (grid of squares) in the bottom toolbar. Tap Add. Edit the button as desired, then tap Done.
  • If you are creating a button from a message in Recents, open the Tools popup (grid of squares) in the bottom toolbar. Tap Recents. Tap the "+" next to the desired message in Recents. Edit the button as desired, then tap Done.

If you are running Proloquo2Go 3 or 4:

  • If you are creating a button from the Message Window, tap the Share button in the toolbar beneath the Message Window. In the menu that opens, tap Add Button. Edit the button as desired, then tap Done
  • If you are creating a button from a message in Recents, open Recents by tapping the Views button (two overlapping squares), then tapping Recents. In Recents, locate the desired message. Tap the "+" to the right of the message. Edit the contents of the button as desired, then tap Done.
