Why can't I backup or restore my vocabulary using WiFi/ Connect to Computer?

If you are having difficulty backing up or restoring your Proloquo2Go vocabulary using Connect to Computer, there are several things you can do to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Make sure that WiFi is enabled on your device and it is connected to the same wireless network as your computer. You can check this by going to the Setting app on your device's home screen and tapping Wi-Fi
  • Make sure you are using Safari or Firefox (Internet Explorer is not supported).

To download the latest version of Safari, please see: http://www.apple.com/safari/

To download the latest version of Firefox, please see: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
  • Make sure that every time you use Connect to Computer, you start it on your device and you enter the unique address that appears on the Connect to Computer screen into your web browser.
  • Make sure you do not exit the Connect to Computer screen on your device and that it does not go to sleep. To make sure the device does not go to sleep, go to the Settings app on your Home screen, tap General, tap Auto-Lock, and then set the time interval to Never.
  • Try exiting Proloquo2Go from multitasking. To exit multitasking, press your device's Home button two times, find the Proloquo2Go screen in your open apps by swiping left or right, and then tap and hold on the screen and drag it up to close the app.  Press your device's Home button once to exit multitasking, and then open Proloquo2Go and see if you can use Connect to Computer.

If you continue to have issues, consider using iTunes File Sharing or Dropbox to backup or transfer and restore your vocabulary, as many users find this simpler for their needs.
