Infovox iVox™ provides system-wide clear and pleasant voices to Mac OS X for blind and vision impaired users, for individuals who need audible feedback or reading support, for language learning or for people who prefer listening to their computer.
Infovox iVox offers 68 voices in 26 languages. The naturally-sounding voices can be used in any Mac OS X application that uses speech, such as Apple’s VoiceOver, Safari, Adobe’s Acrobat Reader, TextEdit and Preview. The software is also included in AssistiveWare’s Proloquo and VisioVoice and can be purchased in a bundle together with GhostReader.
The Infovox iVox voices can be purchased à la carte by using voice credits. Voices are licensed for two computers, so at least 4 credits are required for one voice. You can find more information about the voice credits on the Infovox iVox buy page.
Infovox iVox can be used with all Mac OS X built-in speech and accessibility features, including the VoiceOver screen reader. The voices are developed by Acapela Group, the European leader in speech technologies, and is distributed worldwide by AssistiveWare.
Please note that for languages that contain non-Roman characters such as Arabic, Czech, Greek, Polish, Russian and Turkish Mac OS X 10.5 or higher is required.
