I'm Ann

I'm actually quite verbal (most of the time). I found out about Proloquo2go while researching accessibility tech for both work and a longtime hobby of mine. I have greatly admired its vocal quality and customizability.

I have Aspergers and a rare form of migraine, both of which can cause my speech to malfunction at unpredictable intervals, though usually it is due to the migraines.

I've been using a couple of freebie apps on my iPad and iPhone to communicate when speech goes, but just bought Proloquo4Text as it has much better voice quality. I'm looking forward to better communication when my voice wanders off. =)

Hi Anne! Nice to meet you. I

Hi Anne! Nice to meet you. I am David, AssistiveWare's CEO and one of the people who has worked on Proloquo4Text. Glad to hear you like the voices. Which of the voices do you like most? What other aspects of Proloquo4Text do you like?

Hi David.

Hi David.

I'm using Heather voice, sometimes slowed down a notch for clarity. I like the ability to add my own categories and phrases, as well as easy repeat.

I'm having to slowly add specific pronunciations, though. My husband can barely make out what the app is saying for me sometimes.

Ann, Text to Speech voices

Ann, Text to Speech voices are never perfect in that it is impossible to get every word pronounced right in any sentence. If you are curious how the process works, check out this short video: http://www.assistiveware.com/text-speech-how-does-it-work

If you need pronunciation tips feel free to contact support@assistiveware.com

On a different note, if you have time, we would greatly appreciate if you could leave a review on Proloquo4Text on the App Store.
