Hello - Tom's mom

Hello! I just downloaded Proloquo4text on the iPad of my son Tom. Tom is 11 years old and a great speaker - it is just very difficult to understand him. Even for us after all those years. We've had a speech computer in the house for years, but it hasn't been used much. Tom is starting on a new school now, so we thought that's a good moment to try again with something different.
He already has Keeble on his iPad, I know the two apps can work together but I forgot how. Can somebody show me the way?
thanks! Marije

Hello Marije,

Hello Marije,

First, please make sure that Keeble is activated. Here is a link to the instructions:

http://www.assistiveware.com/support/faq/page/417

Then open Proloquo4Text, and make sure the keyboard is visible.

Tap and hold the globe button in the bottom row of the keyboard to open the menu - then select Keeble.

Please let us know if these instructions are helpful of if you have additional questions.

Kindly,

Pam

Hi Pam,

Hi Pam,

Keeble is activated and visible, but now I get two voices (one from Keeble and one from P4T) and two sets of word predictors. I know how to shut down the voices in either app, but would like some advice on which one to shut down.
As for the word predictors, I would like to hide the one in P4T because Keeble has a bigger font. And we'll use Keeble in other apps as well, so I think it is handy to keep that word predictor up to date. Would that be your advice?

Thanks!
Marije

Hi Marije,

Hi Marije,

To turn off the prediction in Proloquo4Text, open the Options by tapping the gears button

Tap Prediction, then toggle 'Word Prediction' OFF.

As for the voice, the voices in Proloquo4Text are customizable and your son has far more choices.

Hope this helps!

Pam
