Incompatible Backup with Proloquo2go

Hi,

I try to keep a 2nd ipad as a backup in case main one is lost.

I get a message when restoring vocabulary:

"This backup was created with a later version of this app and can only be restored in version 5.0 or later"

This is correct, the backup was saved using version 5.2.1 of Proloquo2go on an ipad os version 11.1.2

I am trying to restore it to an ipad using version 4.4.1 of Proloquo2go on an ipad os version 9.3.5

The backup ipad does not come up with any updates to the os or Proloquo2go, perhaps because it is older?

Does this mean I need a new backup ipad to get it up to date?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered.

Please know that while you can transfer backups from an older version of Proloquo2Go into a newer version of the app, you cannot transfer backups from a newer version of Proloquo2Go to an older version of the app. For example, you can transfer Proloquo2Go 4.x backups into Proloquo2Go 5.x, but you cannot transfer Proloquo2Go 5.x backups into Proloquo2Go 4.x.

If you want to have a backup iPad and transfer your vocabulary rather than manually adding it, you may want to consider purchasing a new iPad that can run iOS 10 or later since the current version of Proloquo2Go (version 5.2.1) requires iOS 10.3 or later.

If you have any questions, please email support@assistiveware.com.

All the best,

Joe
