Product manager

Have you always wanted to work for a company with a social mission? This is your chance! We believe in empowering people with communication difficulties through innovative technology. We think that our life-changing apps can be further improved by integrating technology and implementation support to even better meet the needs of our users.

We are looking for someone with at least three years of product-related project management experience who wants to grow towards a product manager role.

If you have experience with app development, live in the Netherlands and want to help build meaningful products this might be just the job for you. As product manager you will collaborate with our UX designers, support specialists, clinical experts and communication specialists to build next generation products.

Founded in 2000, AssistiveWare’s award-winning products are industry-leading and frequently featured by Apple. This year our founding story was featured on the App Store and in 2016 Tim Cook himself came to visit us in Amsterdam.

AssistiveWare has an international and informal character. Project teams are self-organizing with a flat hierarchy. We share our office in a beautifully renovated historic building in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district with two office cats. Additionally we have several colleagues who work remotely from different continents.

What will you be doing?

Project management:

  • Convert project proposals to full project plans
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to realize the projects

Product management:

  • Translate our high level roadmap to product specific roadmaps and releases
  • Track and prioritize feature requests and bugs for the product roadmap

Experience

  • Experience with and advocate for user-centered design and data-driven decision making
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant study
  • 3+ years of product-related project management experience, preferably for mobile apps
  • Experience with working in cross-functional teams

Skills

  • Great organizational skills: scheduling, planning, managing time, coordinating, reporting
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Helicopter view: The ability to not only work the detail, but stand back to see the big picture, and focus efforts accordingly
  • Responsible and collaborative team player with leadership attitude
  • Knowledge of Jira and Mixpanel is a plus
